Visas for Australians – how to get them!

The following is a list of countries I’ve visited on my travels, my aim is to provide advice on the TOURIST visas for these nations, how and where to obtain them and my own experiences getting them.

I would love for others to contribute to this list (and add new countries I’m yet to visit or TYPES of visas ie. Transit, Work, Student visas ect) with your own experiences!

If anyone has questions or needs advice on visas please feel free to contact me at …………… (have the website email that we will create) or comment below.

Afghanistan

I obtained my visa for Afghanistan in Khorog (Tajikistan, the Pamir Highway) in 2016, it cost $80 USD (paid in cash) for a single entry tourist visa and was processed in 4 hours.

In order to obtain the visa here you don’t need any invitation letter from a tourist agency or a document from the Australian embassy granting you permission to visit Afghanistan (a document that is extremely hard to obtain) and you must write a letter of intent (the reason why you want to visit Afghanistan) the consul in Khorog are extremely friendly.

Albania

No visa is needed for Australians wishing to visit Albania as it is part of the EU/Schengen, 90 days within a 180 day period to visit visa free.

Australia

As an Australian citizen you do not need a visa (obviously) to visit Australia.
